Monday Minute - Taking You Back

Is anyone else having an insane month besides me and KLZ

Thankfully, Ian is there every Monday making my life that much easier!

Monday Minute

1 - Think back as far as you can, what's the first tape, record, etc you remember listening to?

Dire Straits, Eagles, or Whitney Houston.  Couldn't tell you which records, but I remember dancing around and cleaning the house with my mom to these artists...Don't you wanna dance, Say you wanna dance, Don't you wanna dance! Unrelated, but did anyone else have Shell gas stations that gave away tapes of the oldies music?  I loved those!

2 - What's the first concert you've ever been to, the year and who performed?

NKOTB.  4th grade.  Sat 6 rows from the stage with TI and our moms.  Wore homemade puff painted sweatshirts.  Mine was Joey Mac, her's was Jordan.  My awesome started early.

3 - Ever bleed from your ass?

Nope, I would imagine that's extremely painful.

4 - If you went to your Senior Prom and had a date, do you still speak to said person?

I went with a friend. We didn't really talk at Prom, he was so shy, but nice. I managed to avoid the douchebags who put pressure on you to sleep with them after one date until I got to college.  We're Facebook friends now.  The prom date, not the douchebags.  I do have some standards.

and finally...

5 - Name the one television show that's no longer on the air that could have gone on forever.

I'm curious to see how many will say Friends, but gotta go with West Wing.  Aaron Sorkin may have been all coked out while writing, but that show was brilliant!

I LOVED West Wing. The chief of staff guy (can't remember his name) was phenomenal, and I loved the one with the military funeral. Excellent.

My first concert was Paula Abdul. LOL

I listened to Whitney Houston all the time when I was little and now that song is in my head. The Bodygaurd soundtrack was my first cd but I'm pretty sure I had some records before that. I also went to an NKOTB concert around 4th or 5th grade. We bought t-shirts at K-Mart though before we went.

I don't talk to the dude I went to prom with, and I think I was in 6th or 7th grade when I went to NKOTB.

For me Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Firefly could have gone on forever and I would have watched every single episode.

1st concert was ALSO NKOTB, and my Dad took me in 4th grade... God bless him and all the other parents who were there with their screaming kids. And my first CD was COLOR ME BADD... I wanna sex you up!... I can't believe my mom let me buy that CD... maybe it was a gift...

I never got into the West Wing...every one I knew was watching it but each time they would be upset because it always seemed that a baby was dying was something. Love the variety shows and the Bob Hope specials..don't think they can bring him back. Good Ole prom...amazing how many did not go. Thankfully it is the past:)

The Wire is the show I'd like brought back. Or Gilmore Girls. Man, I've got weird tastes.

Whitney Houston was my second concert...I was 8... I had an NKOTB in there somewhere too, but by that time, I thought I was quite the expert! :)

My first concert was Nelson - they of the "I can't live without your love & affection."

I am not proud of this, but it is what it is.

And my first album was Michael Jackson's Thriller.

I've often wondered about West Wing continuing. Stick around watching Bartlett, or continue with the new administration, or do what The Wire (my pick for a show that could have gone on forever) did and try to find a bigger picture, following the original cast as much as possible.

I love how you managed to avoid the d'bags who wanted to get in your pants. Boys are gross. ;)

My prom date was gay. I met up with him in Vegas in December. He's awesome.

My sadness at the demise of West Wing is painful sometimes. I love Aaron Sorkin [did you see him on 30 Rock? GENIUS!]

I really meant to fill this one out last weekend b/c I loved these questions.
My first concert was Metallica summer before 9th grade (Ian also went to the same tour, diff city)
I ended up getting to see NKOTB w/ a few girlfriends. It was amazeballs.

Show that should come back? Friends, Gilmore Girls, Cheers
