Something's Gotta Give

When I started this blog, I was not in the best of places.  Mainly in relation to my career and a lack of meeting new people.  I needed an outlet to write and make new connections.  Enter blogging.  These days, I'm happier than I thought possible with my career, I'm meeting new people regularly, whether through the job, social events or volunteering, and I'm writing ALL the time (not just on the blogs).

Lately I've felt a bit off.  Maybe my Fu is weak? Chopping my hair definitely helped, but still not quite right.  This week the realization that I can't actually do it all hit me.  I hate admitting there's a limit, but I need to shift my focus and realign my priorities.  It's time for a break.

I'm not shutting down Be Awesome Instead, but I didn't want to disappear and leave you all wondering what happened.  The truth is I don't have the time to maintain a readership, let alone cultivate new readers, while keeping up with what's going on with you.

Don't worry, I'll still be hanging around on Twitter and FTS or leaving comments at your place.  I may have the urge to write or find inspiration in a sickly skinny celebrity in need of a Hamburger, and when I do the blog will still be here.  That may be in a week or it may be 3 months.

Until then I'll do my best not to hook up with anyone else.

I took a major break this summer over at Antsy Pants. I hardly posted. It felt good. Then suddenly I got some inspiration and now I'm blogging again. Who knows how long I'll keep it up before I need a break again, but then again, who cares. You just get to the point where you realize it's JUST A BLOG. And you figure out how to make it work for you.

Sometimes you just need a break. I only posted once a month-if that-toward the end of the winter. I'll miss your posts, but I'll be stalking you on the twitter. :)

This is a thing that sounds truer and truer to my ears. See you on the Twitter.

I seem to be constantly taking blogging breaks. You've got a lot on your plate at the moment. Don't add stress about blogging too :)

It's so much work to have a blog, like unreal amounts of work. I understand completely. I'm glad you're not deleting, and you still have the option of popping in here now and then, right?!

When I first started blogging, I was amazed at the number of young people who would take care of jobs, family, home life, and still maintain a DAILY blog. I was in awe. But, so many have had to do as you're doing and take a break. Be easy on yourself, visit when you can, and catch your breath. We'll all be here waiting. {{{HUGS}}}

It can be really hard to balance everything. There are days when I just have to step back and say, "this really only matters to ME, so why am I stressing myself out over it?" Because really, in the big scheme of things, it's not important. We'll be around when you do come back :)

Well if the comment above me doesn't encourage you to keep blogging, I don't know what will.

Also? I so get it. No expectations, girl!

Breaks are good. I feel you. I will maybe have to try to get into sports so I can read From the Sidelines. A hard hitting expose on women's gymnastics would probably help.
