Instead, here's what I've been up to in the last two weeks (mostly in photos)...
Swam through mud/participated in the Nor Cal Warrior Dash (read about it HERE)
Met my beautiful new niece, Baby O (WCB's daughter).
The trip was filled with sooo much awesome it would be hard to capture everything,
but here are a few of the things I've learned only happen in Kentucky
(ok, maybe not only, but based on this one trip I've only seen/done in Kentucky)
but here are a few of the things I've learned only happen in Kentucky
(ok, maybe not only, but based on this one trip I've only seen/done in Kentucky)
1. Don't worry about turning around if you missed a road sign, you can just back straight up.
2. The best beverage served in Kentucky is not actually bourbon, but gingerale on crack.
3. Towns named after French locations aren't actually pronounced in French-American
(Versailles = Vur-say-ulls).
4. Tailgating at horse races is a thing.
Of course, if there's no race going on you just sit inside your car in the parking lot.
That's Churchill Downs if you can't read the writing on the building.
5. Vehicle Emission laws may not actually exist, but the air is still cleaner than Sacramento.
6. Streets are named after famous horses and mascots.

7. Sushi is served on a platter shaped like a goldfish cracker.
8. Jockeys might be worshiped as much as the horse, but that deserves it's own post.
9. Santa might wave at you from the inside of a mug well before Christmas.
10. The unofficial state slogan refers to Getting Lucky!

So that's been my life for the last two weeks. I have a ton to catch up on, and even though I haven't been commenting as much, I've been reading when I can! Hopefully, I can keep up a bit more as things settle down. Ha!

That's a much more eventful two weeks than I've had. I want to do a Warrior Dash sometime. It looks like fun. That baby is adorable. I'm waiting (im)patiently for my biffle to pop hers out. Also, I want that plate. It's genius. Did you know they make goldfish shaped bread now?
I am so glad that a certain former Derby winning jockey is getting his own post. I VERY much look forward to reading that! Welcome "back"...how does it feel? ;-D
Oh and that Blogger's Manifesto that you pinned on Pinterest? I printed it and hung it above my desk.
An excellent recap. And those are the cutest onesies...love them!
Again looks like SO much fun. I'm also happy to see I'm not the only one that's been sort of "taking a break" from my blog. I have SO much to write about but no time to write it all down. Looks like you had a blast and I can't imagine a weekend w/ the three of you being anything less than amazing!!!
P.S. I so want to taste that ginger ale!
I can't even begin to imagine the fun you had with those two girls! Jealous!
My husband is freaking obsessed with Ale 8 one. Everytime someone comes down from up north, he wants them to bring him a crap ton of it. I guess I'm not from KY so I don't get it ;)
I bought my pregnant BFF an "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good" onesie. It looks like you guys had a good trip!
Now, just because she's muggle born doesn't mean she won't be attending hogwarts. In fact, I expect it of her. Put it on her to do list.
I'm with KLZ...even if they called her Mudblood...she still needs to go.
Yay! You're back!
Those onesies are adorable!
I'm still totally jealous that you got to meet Ally and Shana, but I'm glad you girls had such a great time!
Wow, girl- you've been busy.
Just jump right back in! :)
Um...you're awesome.
I now desperately want to try crackified-ginger ale!
Please tell me you didn't actually leave that single piece of sushi uneaten?!? There has to be a law against that.
There was a warrior dash here recently and I really, really wish I knew about it sooner because it seems seriously awesome! How exhausting was it?!
I wish I could have hung out with you while you were in KY! I'm not far from there! Glad to see you back on here!
Wow, you have been a busy little bee! But I'm so happy for this recap, and more than a little jealous you got to hang out with Ally and Shana in Kentucky! Sounds like you girls had a blast :) Welcome back, Hutch, I've missed you in the bloggy world!! XOXO
