For those who've been watching How I Met Your Mother regularly know this season has been an example of a great show being thrown in to a trash pile and sent to the dump. The same show that inspired the name you see across the header (if you're actually on the site, that is).
Timing can be such a funny thing.
When I started this blog, there was a lot of "Instead" that I needed to Be Awesome of. A crappy economy landing me in an unfortunate job situation, a shattered heart, drama with friends. I needed this outlet. Now? I don't need to use humor to cover up the healing. I need humor because I'm funny and like funny people.
Don't get me wrong, my life is still far from perfect, but I'm content...happy...at peace. I actually grew up, gasp (let's not confuse growing up with maturity)! You all have helped immensely in getting me there. I've made what I know will be lifelong friendships with many of you. Blogging really is a cheaper option than therapy.
It's with my newly found serenity that I say farewell to Be Awesome Instead. I hate when relationships linger without closure, and I've been a bad better half for awhile now. No excuses, no guilt, I'm just done. It's time. Thanks for the support over the past two and a half years!

I understand. I get it. I still feel like a friend has died. Is that weird?
I think of you whenever Alex has bedhead or I eat a brownie. Or the niners play. You're not getting rid of me, even though I understand the impulse here and...sort of envy it.
Sads. HIMYM is better than The Office now at least. I will always love Marshall. I will keep on checking in at From the Sidelines when I feel like being sporty.

Nooooooooooooooooooo! I'm really sad to hear this :( You will be missed, my friend. But I understand. And I'm glad you are in such a good place. Will still keep up with you wherever/whenever possible.
