I met my first serious boyfriend through a group of people I knew mostly online... so I've never really held much of a distinction between 'online' and 'IRL' friends. I love meeting people, whichever way I meet them... blogging is just another way to meet a different set of (lovely) people :)

I know exactly what you mean. I feel as though lately I've been referring to my blog friends a whole lot more which probably raises some eyebrows. But I think of them (and you!) the same way I do all of my *IRL* friends. These connections have hands-down been the best thing to come from blogging for me, too.

I agree with all of the above comments as well.
The people I've "met" through blogging are some of the best friends I have (is that sad?), and I am so thankful for it.
I also have given up with the "this girl who's blog I read..." - now when someone has the gall to ask why I'm going to Sacramento, I proudly say "to visit a friend!"

Like I said on my it's blogworthy comment, I don't have a ton of blog friends due mostly to my shyness and lack of effort (my real life friends are all from when I was in middle school). But I have enjoyed the people I have met through blogging and the people whose blogs I read daily. Plus I've gotten great tv/book recomendations and a few free things sent to me in the mail. I agree with Amanda...sometimes you are better than IRL friends. Although, I don't really even make that distinction anymore. My blog friends are my friends...period.

I totally agree with the friendships. I don't know how I could have coped with the first few months of motherhood with advice and silliness to make me smile. It's hard for people to understand when they don't blog!
